The church of St. Anton of Padova, Fuzine
The church of St. Anton of Padova is the biggest sacral building in Gorski kotar. Its construction, at the spot where once stood a chapel and the first graveyard of Fuzine, lasted for entire 25 years, from 1808 to 1833. The church is adorned with beautiful marble altars, valuable paintings and crystal chandeliers. The original works of art in the church include “The Last Supper” above the altar which has undergone restoration, the original Way of the Cross and frescoes painted by a famous Croatian painter Antonini in early 20th century. The church is dedicated to the patron of Fuzine, St. Anton of Padova, it dominates the village and with its night lighting creates a special impression.
